The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ogun State has taken a decisive step by suspending Jimi Lawal, a former aide to Nasir El-Rufai, the ex-Governor of Kaduna State. This suspension comes amidst a broader restructuring initiative aimed at restoring stability within the party. The ADC's decision was announced by Femi Soluade, the party's chairman in the state, who cited Lawal's actions as inconsistent with the party's principles and internal democratic framework. Lawal's alleged attempts to dominate party structures by acquiring two local government structures and dismantling existing state and local leadership frameworks have led to this suspension. The ADC has also unveiled a caretaker committee to oversee the party's affairs until a state congress is held. The crisis has been resolved by restoring the original leadership to the local government structures in Ijebu Ode and Sagamu, ensuring internal balance and inclusiveness.
